are you scared?
Sometimes it seems so hard to take the plunge and risk finding a new church. Do you feel that way? There are a lot of churches in the world, and if your community is like mine, then there are probably a lot of churches in your community too.
The problem is there are a lot of sketchy churches out there. So many churches claim to be of God and aren’t. And because of those churches and because of a few Christians who claim the same thing, we often become scared of God and the church. It’s why so many people say they love Jesus and not His followers and/or the church.
We’ve been hurt by life experiences. We’ve been hurt by our friends and family. We’ve been hurt by our own expectations and dreams not coming true. Unfortunately we have blamed all that on God. We blame Him for our hurt. We often blame Him for everything bad that seems to have happened.
We can trust God. He’s for us and not against us. People are going to fail us, God through His son Jesus is not. He is faithful. He is the one that was, and is, and is to come. He is eternal. He lasts forever. He is love. And love wins.
So take a risk on God again. I promise He will prove faithful. Here’s the deal: We can doubt while He is faithful or we can trust while He is faithful. It’s our choice. So take the risk! It is definitely worth it. We don’t have to “beware of God.”
Would love to hear from you: What church do you attend? Where is it? If you aren’t somewhere already, would love for you to come worship with us at East Nashville Community Church. We aren’t perfect, and we pursue Jesus!

We were part of an unhealthy church for several years…changed 14 mo ago – different denomination, larger, everything was different!!! However, we LOVE it!!! We know this is where God has placed us for this season in our life!!
Firewheel Church lives out God’s love!

Now me and my family are at a new fellowship have been sent to AWANA trainig been to the maximum man conference in Jackson. The thought process as a whole is just serving Jesus. Three spirit filled ministers serving for God.My daughter and grandson have been swallowed up by the love there.Me too. Inglewood Baptist Church.

Where is the East Nashville Community Church? I tried to google it but couldn’t find it!
hey Christina! awesome and thanks! we are a new church that is starting up on the east side. this sunday night will be our 2nd meeting. we are in the process of getting an online presence. i’ll let you know when it’s up and running!
I was at my church in Dallas from 2002 to 2009. I loved it but starting in the fall of 2008 I felt like it was getting to be time to move on. The pastor that had been there when I started was no longer there and I stayed through the transition, but then I just noticed that it just seemed to have this air of arrogance that crept in. I asked God last summer to let me know if it was time to go and He did. I jumped the band wagon though and transferred my membership to a church that I wasn’t really feeling it at. Finally, in November after a few weeks of going to the church I am now at here in Arlington, I took a leap of faith and transferred my membership for one last time. I remember when I went to the hospitality room after the 11:00 service and talking with this lady. She prayed for me and I knew it was the right thing to do. I had actually visited my current church many times as I would go there whenever I didn’t have enough gas to get to my church in Dallas (I live 25 miles away). I am soo very thankful that I finally took the leap because it is exactly where I needed to be. And the people are awesome. I made one final sever with my church in Dallas when I stepped away from working in Awana (they allowed non-members to still come help). Again I know that was the right thing to do – I love being in the orchestra and I know one day I will also get to work in Awana again. And I am back in Sunday school, my friend Caleb is coming to church with me and loves it, and I have a small group I am a part of. Thankful God loves us so much that He cares about which church we are to be a part of.
that’s so great to hear kathi that you are back at a church you love and are doing well! keep me updated how all that goes!
Wish I were in driving distance, I would love to be a part of East Nashville Community Church. I am looking for a church here in NC. Think I found one, but going to take my time. It has really been interesting to see how different people worship and live out their faith, which is really what God means by worship HIM.
mom, i wish you were in driving distance too.
