Here's what I love about your resolutions: they don't just benefit you. The seniors, your wife, the random friend each day are all going to be made better by your efforts. And there's no doubt your encouragement of them will bring you more than you could have ever wanted.

If you check out www.christianbook.com and go under books and church and pastoral and church leadership you will find a lot of books and some are really cheap and they look good. Like "What On Earth Am I Here For?" by Rick Warren is $1.49 And hey you can never go wrong with Rick Warren especially since he went to the college I did my grad school at - California Baptist University :)

These are my 3 reading suggestions:
1. "Reaching People Under 40 While Keeping People Over 60: Being Church for All Generations (TCP Leadership Series)" by Edward H. Hammett
2. "Coaching Questions: A Coach's Guide to Powerful Asking Skills" by Tony Stoltzfus
3. "Making Shifts Without Making Waves: A Coach Approach to Soulful Leadership (TCP Leadership Series)" by Edward H. Hammett

A dear friend gave me the first one: excellent. I hope he has already read it. So I ordered and have started the last one by the same author. It is equally as good. I do believe unity and connectedness in all relationships is the fundamental basic in all we do. The info in these books can be applied to not only church life but life in general. Would love to dialogue with anyone who reads any of these.
