It's always gonna be a struggle. There is SO MUCH that can consume our attention. even church things. I mean you can involved in every ministry there is in the church just because that is the thing to do.

I dont think we should limit it to the "secular" side of things. I think it is everything. But I get his fundamental point... and I agree with it. We need to work everyday on our relationship with Him. Just like a marriage.. just because you get married doesn't mean you stop working at your marriage... same goes with our walk with Christ.

and there you have it.. =)

I think the fundamental question at issue in his message is what does it mean to be saved? Is being saved a one time event or is being saved a state of living that is constantly challenged? My answer is that by truly being saved you never have to have the conflict about what is more important (i.e. God or football) but rather your whole life is oriented to perform the purpose that God has placed within you. Thoughts?
Pierce Hibma
http://HSSSblog.com

The message is delivered in a strong in your face kind of way, but the bottom line is "what's my answer" to what he's saying. It's a good question for us to be asking. Let's face it, we can fool ourselves about a lot of things. Let's not let our relationship with Jesus be one of them.
