To My Bride…
Dear Alyson,
God is gracious and merciful though. As I sit here and think about it, He has always seemed to over exceed my imagination and expectations. I haven’t always understood why certain things have happened, but looking back on it God has been true to His character: faithful. Praise God He is faithful!
Alyson, you are so much better than anything my prayers asked for. You are living proof that God not only answers prayer, but gives us more than we asked for. I never thought that I would find a woman that with her very presence would make me feel as though everything is ok. I never thought that I would find a woman who would support me during crazy hard times, and we have definitely already faced some of those! I never thought that I would find a woman who passionately loves God and His people. I never thought that I would find a partner in ministry who was truly excited about impacting the community for God. I never thought I would meet someone whose smile meant more than any encouraging word.
And then I met you, and my world, as I knew it, changed. We talked like every day for five months before you moved to Nashville. Remember how we used to be on the phone for hours at a time? One time we talked for like eight hours! I still have a hard time believing that we did that, but at the same time I still love sitting around hearing your voice. I think it’s safe to say that I’m crazyboutya! ☺
I meant every word I said to you yesterday. I know it was a crazy day, so if you forgot, here’s a recap: “I Matthew, take thee, Alyson, to be my wedded wife, to have and to hold from this day forward, for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love, and to cherish till death do us part; and to you I pledge my faithfulness.”
I’m so happy and excited that you are my wife. I’m so honored to be your husband. You are truly the best friend I have ever had. I look forward to making much of Jesus with you. I look forward to growing old with you. I look forward to sitting on the porch, just sitting. I love you Alyson. You will always be my beautiful bride.

Made me cry. I too am so proud of Alyson. I am so proud for you and Alyson. You are the joy of our life. She not only completes you but is truly a God-sent gift to our whole family.
